Intense straw yellow, very bright and with reflections of ochre colour. On the nose it is explosive, concentrated, with aromas of dehydrated nuts, dried figs, coffee, marzipan, brown glacé, slightly, spicy, product of its aging in barrels.
In the mouth it is of marked acidity, nerve and freshness. Its body is medium, light, at the same time very tasty, dominating the salt from its midpoint of the mouth to its long end.
2019 was a really fabulous year in Rías Baixas. The wines have a lovely concentration and lots of energy. Whilst recognising that oaked Albariño is a niche, it’s definitely a style and quality that can compete with anything on the international market. Granbazán were pioneers in this style which they have made for over thirty years.
